I love good food. I love to cook. And I love that little smile at the corners of people’s mouths when the first bites leave them wanting more.
For me, cooking is not just about preparing food. And food is not just fuel for the day. Wonderful food can make you happy. And cooking can be a way to relax, have fun with friends and show someone you care. Just smelling the tomatoes while shopping, picking out fresh herbs or hearing the crunch of fresh bread makes me want to cook.
Of course, you don’t always have time to spend hours preparing a multi-course meal. And naturally, it can’t always be exquisite ingredients on the table. But with a little skill, even simple and quick dishes can put that happy smile on someone’s face.
I have been cooking for my family, friends & acquaintances for many years. And sometimes things have gone wrong. The classic – salt instead of sugar – can send a dessert straight into the trash can. The only thing that helps: laugh about it yourself, learn for next time and, if all else fails, call the pizza delivery.
We have tried all the recipes presented here at home ourselves, in this or other variations. Over the years, I have collected lots of recipes that I absolutely wanted to cook again or definitely wanted to keep. So far, it’s still an unsorted pile, but little by little all the highlights will be collected and archived here on the blog.
I hope you have lots of fun cooking and eating! Feel free to write to me and tell me what you liked or didn’t like, where you ran into problems or if you have new ideas.
Enjoy your meal!
